A global Tier 1 Automotive Supplier is looking for a Material Planning & Logistics Manager
Securing a constant supply of materials to Production as required to meet production output targets , ensuring coverage of Raw Material and managing safety stocks and reporting and managing any potential issues
Coordinating and controlling the order cycle and associated information systems to ensure consistency of supply both to production and external customers.
Initiate activities to achieve customer satisfaction to on time delivery in full customer required quantities and seek improvements to customer perception
Manage and co-ordinate activities focused on inventory reduction to achieve the optimum level of inventory for the plant. Working with the GRIP team on Target Setting and control.
Manage Freight Budget to optimise the best route at the best cost
Report and control Premium Freight and Corrective Action to avoid unnecessary and unplanned costs
Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers on a daily basis; to develop and maintain relationships.
Manage supplier base closely work with them to improve supply related issues and performance. Monitor and report out monthly each supplier overall supply performance
Supporting Programme Management with new projects / platform implementation. Managing requirements for pre-series builds and Run at Rate
Responsibility for all staff within MPL, Material Planning & Customer Service
Exercise high standards of H & S at all times, including Environmental Safety Awareness.
To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by the Company
Ensure the annual assessment for MMOG is completed and to a Grade A
Support all Customer Service to manage customer potential issues and shortages
Respond to any customer complaints is a professional manner including root cause and managing any potential issues from containment to solution for the long term
Ensuring the MPL department is Audit ready is obtaining and maintaining Q1 status and any IATF requirements
Ensuring daily liaison with Production, Planning and Warehouse Areas to identify potential issues with supply.
Monitoring customer demand and changes to that demand
Set up and run a monthly SOP Program
Monitor weekly shipments v demand
Monitor Demand v Capacity
Identify an area of training & Development the team require and organising any training programs – Develop the team
5 to 10 years experience in the logistics area in the automotive sector
Experience in U.S, leadership, logistic process, automotive process, inventory managment
Knowledge of SAP MM PP
Knowledge of customs exports and requirements
Problem solving, technical and analytical capability
Ability to priporitize multiple projects
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Good time management and organizational skills
